Bands

A band of hunters has several stats that represent their collective status in the realm of Northmarch. These stats have important effects on a band’s downtime actions and the way people in general treat them.

This represents the chance that people have heard of you. Your band’s notoriety can be Unknown, Rumored, Familiar, Known, or Famous. Your band’s reputation does not matter as long as your notoriety is low. Increased notoriety has perks, but can also bring unwanted attention from your enemies.

  • Unknown: No one knows who you are or cares if you exist.
  • Rumored: Someone might have heard part of your recent deeds.
  • Familiar: Several people have heard tales of your band and may recognize you.
  • Known: Most people have heard a little about you and can recognize one or more of the band.
  • Famous: Everyone knows of your deeds and can recognize you on sight.

This represents what people think of you. Your band’s reputation can be Poor, Weak, Normal, Good, or Great. This reputation is still relative to the fact that you are a hunter. Meaning, a band with a Good reputation may still be spat upon by most folks in a village, but perhaps the witch who lives outside of it is willing to trust you.

This represents the attitude of the peoples of Northmarch. Whether you like it or not, the morale of the people seeps into how you feel as well, draining or bolstering you. Your band’s morale can be Poor, Normal, or Good.

  • Terrible Morale: You begin the session with 0 action points and -5 to fear checks.
  • Poor Morale: You begin the session with 1 less action point.
  • Normal Morale: You begin the session with normal action points.
  • Good Morale: You begin the session with 1 additional action point.
  • Excellent Morale: You begin the session with 2 additional action points.

This represents your group’s total coin and assets. This stat does not change often, but if you go out of your way to collect wealth you may then choose to spend it on some downtime actions. Your band’s wealth can be Destitute, Poor, Good, Great, or Wealthy.
